Water fun and smoking sand in Hulshorst

Hulshorst is situated on Lake Veluwe and is therefore especially known for its fantastic water sports. In addition to four beach areas with marinas, a surfing beach has been created on the border between Hulshorst and Nunspeet. Here, on a nice day with a nice breeze, you can speed across the relatively shallow water. Would you rather enjoy the sun in peace or relax on a terrace by the water? Then visit the restaurants and cafes right on the beach of Lake Veluwe. Enjoy the beautiful view, the delicious food, and much more!

Ferry ride and bird watching

In autumn, the Veluwemeer is abuzz with chatter. Many temporary residents live there during this time, including golden plovers, lapwings, ospreys, and various geese. They can easily forage for winter food in the shallow water. Need a break during your bike ride? Then take the ferry to Biddinghuizen. You’ll be on the other side in 25 minutes. This way, you can enjoy both the Veluwe and the polder in one day!

Hulshorst railway station

When cycling in Hulshorst, stop at the former Hulshorst railway station. Opened in 1863, it was primarily intended for the High Society. Today, the station is a listed building. Gerrit Achterberg dedicated a famous poem to the station. The first line? “Hulshorst, like forgotten iron.” The entire poem was placed on the station by the Wall Poems Foundation.
